How does eyebrow shaping work?
The eyebrows are permanently shaped with a cold perm and a stabilizing fixative that lasts about 6 weeks.
What do I need to do a brow shaping myself?
- To do the eyebrow lamination yourself, you will need a few products and accessories such as:
- An agent of permeabilization of the eyebrows which makes them malleable for eyebrow shapes.
- An agent that neutralizes the corresponding permeabilizing agent to fox the reshaped eyebrows in place (use a saline solution for a deep clean).
- 2 application brushes for separate application of the permeating agent and the neutralizing agent.
- A small bowl to prepare the perm and neutralizer.
- 2 or 3 eyebrow brushes to shape the eyebrows.
- Cotton swabs to remove the products from the eyebrows.
- Cotton pads for cleaning.
- A transparent plastic sheet to cover the eyebrows during application time.

Brow shaping step by step
Before applying the products for eyebrow laminating, the eyebrows must be properly prepared:
- Thoroughly remove makeup from the brows with cotton pads. Clean and dry them so that the hairs can optimally absorb the product.
- Brush the eyebrows into the desired shape with the eyebrow brush.
- Wear gloves when applying the products and protect your clothes from product stains.
The hydrogen bonds in the hair’s keratin are loosened by the action of the permanent gel. This gives a better malleability to the eyebrow hairs.
The eyebrow gel is applied as follows:
Step 1: Squeeze a pea-sized amount of Bow Perm into the bowl and apply it to the eyebrows with a brush. Start at the beginning of the brow and make sure to apply the gel in the direction the hairs were brushed.
Step 2: Leave on for 6 minutes. During the application time, a plastic sheet can be placed over the eyebrows. This will prevent the hairs from sticking out and improve the absorption of the perm in order to get bold eyebrows.
Step 3: After the application time, carefully remove the gel from the eyebrows with a dry cotton swab.
Setting
For the next part of the eyebrow makeup, the hair should be fixed in the desired shape using the neutralizer. This is because the neutralizer cross-links the sulfur bridges in the hair during the application time. It is important to note that the neutralizer gel should not come in contact with the perm gel as this may limit its effectiveness.
Step 1: Pour a pea-sized amount of neutralizer into the cleaned bowl. Using a fresh and clean brush, the neutralizer should then be applied in the same manner as the Perm gel.
Step 2: You can also use cling film to prevent stubborn hairs from sticking.
Step 3: After 4 minutes, the neutralizing gel can be removed from the eyebrow with a dry cotton swab in the same way as you did for the perm gel. Thoroughly clean brows with a saline solution to remove any product residue.
Step 4: For the perfect finish, you can run a brow brush through your brows and, if necessary, shorten any overly long hair with scissors.
